In one country of the country, such a law has been created, under which if any religious literature is insulted then life sentence can be punished. Yes, these laws have passed in Punjab state

According to the news, the cabinet of the Punjab Government, on Tuesday, drafted the draft Bill of Proposals for the Indian Penal Code (IPC and Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC) with the intention of making provision for life imprisonment for convicts for disrespecting religious texts. In this regard, CM Amarinder Singh informed the media persons also.

An official spokesman of the state government said that the government has taken a major step in controlling such incidents in the state and maintaining communal harmony. He said that this decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh

“The Cabinet has approved the withdrawal of the CRPC (Punjab Amendment) Bill-2013 and the IPC (Punjab Amendment) Bill-2016 passed in the 12th session of the 14th Assembly, in the coming session of the Punjab Assembly, the CRPC (Punjab Amendment) Bill-2018 and IPC (Punjab Amendment) Bill- 2018. The Cabinet has also approved the introduction of several other bills in the House in the forthcoming session of the Legislative Assembly given permission.

It is to this day that in Punjab the provision of punishment for life imprisonment on the disrespect of Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikhism. Later, the central government, while expressing their objections over the amendment, told the state government that sentence of life imprisonment can not be confined to the insult of a holy book of one religion, but it should be applied in the case of insults of the texts of every religion.

There have been some incidents of dishonor of religious texts in Punjab in recent years and this election was made in the assembly elections last year and now it has become a law in Punjab.
