Things don’t seem to be cooling down in West Bengal, with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleging that three of its party workers sustained bullet injuries after West Bengal Police fired at them for raising ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans.
The incident came into light after a clash broke out between BJP and TMC workers, after a group of BJP workers started chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ during TMC MP Suvendu Adhikary’s public meeting in Bankura. A 14-year-old boy was also injured in the firing.
Jai Shri Ram slogan’s have led to multiple political unrest in the recent past and even Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lost her calm when BJP supporters “welcomed” her by chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans. Didi Accused BJP of politicizing the issue and further said, she won’t allow the state to become another Gujarat.
The West Bengal BJP unit shared pictures of the injured party workers as a proof and also shared a picture of two cops aiming at people. BJP blamed the Mamata Banerjee government of using her administration to “unleash terror on innocent civilians just for perceived descent!”
Although the investigation regarding the matter is still going on but their is no deny that clashes have erupted due to the chanting of the slogans. Many have lost their life in these clashes, the politicians and the people need to think weather it is worth to loose human life on these grounds?
